Choosing a hematology analyzer is usually decided by three questions, not by the model name. This guide compares every Mindray hematology analyzer we distribute in the Philippines, so you can narrow the list before asking anyone for a quotation.
The three questions that decide it
1. Do you need a 3-part or 5-part differential?
A 3-part analyzer separates white cells into three populations (lymphocytes, mid-range cells, granulocytes). It is enough for routine screening in clinics and physician offices. A 5-part analyzer reports neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils separately, which most hospital and diagnostic laboratories require. A 6-part differential adds immature granulocytes as a reported population.
2. Do you need walk-away loading?
Open-vial models are loaded tube by tube. An autoloader holds a rack of tubes and runs them unattended — 30 tubes on the BC-5380, 50 on the BC-6000 and BC-6200. If a single operator is running other benches at the same time, an autoloader is usually what changes the working day.
3. Do you need ESR, reticulocyte or body-fluid testing on the same instrument?
The BC-700 series integrates ESR alongside the CBC, which removes a separate ESR workflow. Reticulocyte counting is available on the BC-720, BC-780, BC-6000 and BC-6200. Body-fluid analysis is available on the BC-6200.

BC-6000 vs BC-6200: the comparison we are asked for most
Both are benchtop analyzers supplied with a 50-tube autoloader, so walk-away capacity is comparable. The difference is in what they report.
- The BC-6000 is a 5-part differential analyzer with 6-part white-cell differentiation including immature granulocytes, reporting 29 parameters plus 20 research parameters, with NRBC counting and reticulocyte-type research parameters.
- The BC-6200 is a 6-part differential analyzer that adds body-fluid mode alongside CBC, differential and reticulocyte testing.
In practice: if you run cerebrospinal, pleural or peritoneal fluids and want them on the same platform, that points to the BC-6200. If your workload is blood only, the BC-6000 covers it.
Smaller laboratories and clinics
For clinics and low-volume laboratories, the BC-30 and BC-30s report 21 parameters with a 3-part differential. Where a 5-part differential is required but volumes are modest, the BC-5120 reports up to 35 parameters without an autoloader, and the BC-5380 adds a 30-tube autoloader with a 20 µL sample requirement, which matters for pediatric and geriatric specimens.
Consolidating CBC with ESR
If ESR is currently a separate bench, the BC-700 series is worth looking at. The BC-700 integrates ESR with a 5-part differential in an open-vial configuration, the BC-720 adds reticulocyte capability, the BC-760 reports 33 parameters and returns combined CBC and ESR results in about 1.5 minutes, and the BC-780 reports CBC, differential, reticulocyte and ESR from a single test cycle.
