Mindray TDR-X240 Automatic Blood Culture Analyzer

The Mindray TDR-X240 Automated Blood Culture System is a fully automated, continuous-monitoring instrument used by hospital and clinical microbiology laboratories to incubate blood and sterile body-fluid culture bottles and detect microbial growth. It is designed for medium-to-high-volume laboratories that need reliable, walk-away monitoring of blood culture specimens as part of bloodstream-infection and sepsis workup workflows. As part of Mindray's modular TDR-X series, the TDR-X240 supports up to 240 bottle positions and can be scaled as testing volume grows.

Consumables and sample types

• Compatible culture bottles include TDR Resin Aerobic, TDR Resin Anaerobic and TDR Resin Peds (pediatric); the system supports both standard and resin cultures, aerobic and anaerobic.
• Resin formulations are intended to absorb antibiotics and inflammatory factors to support culture recovery, without interfering with Gram staining.
• Polycarbonate (plastic) bottles help reduce biohazard and breakage risk from accidental falls, and offer cost-effective handling and disposal.
• Applicable specimens include blood and sterile body fluids such as cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and pleural fluid. The system uses a predefined 5-day culture period in line with CLSI guidance.
