Mindray TDR-X120 Automatic Blood Culture Analyzer

The Mindray TDR-X120 Automated Blood Culture System is a benchtop microbiology instrument that automatically incubates, agitates and monitors blood culture bottles to detect microbial growth in blood and other sterile body fluids. It is intended for clinical and reference microbiology laboratories, hospitals and diagnostic centres in the Philippines that need a continuous-monitoring blood culture workflow with moderate-to-high daily throughput. As an authorized distributor, Medisense (Osyali Construction & Trading, Inc.) supplies the TDR-X120 with local installation and after-sales engineering support.

The TDR-X120 holds 120 culture bottle positions and processes up to roughly 24 specimens per day under the system's predefined 5-day culture protocol. It uses Mindray's irreversible colorimetric detection together with multi-calculation growth algorithms (sustained acceleration, rate and initial threshold) to continuously track each bottle and flag positive and negative results automatically.

• Capacity: 120 bottle positions; modular design accommodating up to 10 incubator drawers, with the TDR-X platform extendable as workload grows (X030/X060/X120/X240/X360 configurations).
• Detection principle: irreversible colorimetry with a stated sensitivity of ≤10 CFU/mL.

• Workflow: one-step loading by scanning the bottle barcode and entering patient information, without touching the screen.
• Software and interface: Windows-based operating system with a touchscreen display; automatic surveillance and reporting, negative pre-diagnostic report, and growth-curve and statistical data exportable to Excel.
• Connectivity: LIS/HIS connectivity (including BT-LIS mode) for transmitting results to the laboratory information system.
