CL-900i — compact, 180 tests per hour

The CL-900i is described by the manufacturer as one of the world's smallest fully automated CLIA systems, integrating sample handling, reagent management, incubation, magnetic separation and chemiluminescence detection in a single unit.

• Sample capacity: 50-position sample tray with continuous loading and offloading, and STAT priority for emergency samples.

For a laboratory adding immunoassay capability for the first time, or one where bench space is the binding constraint, this is usually the right entry point.

CL-2600i — higher throughput, still under one square meter

The CL-2600i is built for laboratories needing high-throughput immunoassay capability within a footprint of less than one square meter. It uses Mindray's FS-Sampling (Full-Scene Sampling) technology, which identifies sample containers using onboard databases and algorithms to support accurate aspiration across mixed container types.

That container-recognition matters more than it sounds: in a laboratory receiving samples in varied tube types from multiple collection points, it is the step that most often needs operator intervention.

Which one

Both occupy roughly the same bench area, so this is not a space decision. Size on daily immunoassay volume and on whether your sample containers are standardized. If you are consolidating immunoassay from several sites with mixed tube types, the CL-2600i's sampling technology is the differentiator; if your volume is moderate and your containers are consistent, the CL-900i covers it at lower cost.
