
Coagulation analyzers are not chosen on speed. They are chosen on which assays you need to run, because that decides which detection technology the instrument must have. This guide compares the three Mindray coagulation analyzers we distribute in the Philippines.
The question that actually decides it: which assays do you run?
There are two different measurement principles involved, and only one of them can do everything.
- Mechanical (clot) detection senses the physical formation of a clot. It covers the routine coagulation panel — PT, APTT, fibrinogen, thrombin time.
- Optical detection measures light through the sample, which is what chromogenic and immunoturbidimetric assays require.
If your menu is the routine panel, a mechanical-only analyzer is sufficient and simpler. The moment you need chromogenic or immunoturbidimetric testing, you need an instrument with an optical channel — and in this range that means the C3510. No amount of throughput on a mechanical-only analyzer substitutes for a measurement channel it does not have.

Why the C3100's detection method matters for difficult samples
The C3100 uses dual magnetic circuit beads, a viscosity-based method that is unaffected by hemolysis, icterus and lipemia. Optical methods can struggle with those sample types. If a meaningful share of your workload is icteric or lipemic, that is a practical advantage rather than a specification detail.
It also includes auto-rerun, auto-dilution and fibrinogen auto-dilution, with 2 to 6 point calibration and onboard quality-control management — the functions that decide how much operator time a coagulation bench actually consumes.
When the semi-automated C2000-4 is the right answer
The C2000-4 is a compact benchtop analyzer with four measuring channels that can run the same or different clotting tests simultaneously. For a clinic, a smaller hospital laboratory, or as a backup bench for when the main analyzer is down, it covers the routine panel without the footprint or cost of full automation. It does not offer walk-away operation.
